SHIMANO Voluntary Recall Inspection & Replacement Notice:

Shimano has issued a voluntary recall for 11-speed Hollowtech II bonded ULTEGRA and DURA-ACE road cranksets.

The affected models are ULTEGRA and DURA-ACE branded cranksets produced before July 2019 with the following model numbers:

  • ULTEGRA FC-6800 and FC-R8000
  • DURA-ACE FC-9000, FC-R9100 and FC-R9100-P

The model number can be found on the inside of the crank arm near the bottom. If your bike has one of the above cranksets it is recommended that you bring it to Parry Sound Bikes (or any Shimano Inspection Location) for inspection. Shimano expects that most cranksets will pass inspection in which case you can expect your bike back in 1-2 business days. In rare cases where the cranksets do not pass inspection, Parry Sound Bikes will communicate and handle the claim (and possible replacement) process on your behalf.

Find the full recall notice here: www.bike.shimano.com

We're OPEN year-round Tuesday to Saturday 10:00 a.m.- 6:00 p.m.

Some of our favourite roads are: Highway 518 & Tally Hoe Swords Road, East & West Carling Bay Road, Rankin Lake & Blackstone Crane Lake Road, Clearlake Road, Shebeshekong & Skerryvore Community Road, Highway 520 & The Bunny Trail.

Mountain Biking & Family Rides

The Georgian Nordic Outdoor Activity Centre has long been to go to place for cross country skiing in the area. In 2015 it also became a centre with great double track and single track bike trails. The double track trails offer smooth open trails that wind through the woods; great for kids and new riders. The Georgian Nordic single track makes use of the Canadian shield and offers riders a challenging rocky, rooty path up and down the rocks and ridges. Membership or day pass required to ride; memberships and day passes available online at Get Outdoors Parry Sound or in person at Parry Sound Bikes.

If you're looking for a family day trip or a place to camp, check out Killbear Provincial Park. Killbear Provincial Park is located 35km from Parry Sound and offers a nice bike path for family rides and great beaches.
